Why?
This was a year of seeing the bands that the music press told me – or my younger colleagues – to go and see. Right now, I’m trying to remember the song that we loved without looking it up. I’m failing.
I can just about picture the venue though, and I can just about remember the night.
OK – looked it up.
The song was Amylase. It still sounds great – but god, it’s so 2007.
High?
We’d have had arms round each other’s shoulders for the breakdown sing-along of “You’re the catalyst that makes things faster, amylase will dry up the plaster” All coming back to me… I loved gigs with those guys. I knew I was older, but never really felt it.
Drinking?
Yep.
Thinking?
This is good, it’s not great.
